Our Story
www.yegdesi.com is a local Edmonton based website that will bring local news, culture, restaurant reviews, event listings and the best of the city with special focus on South Asians commonly known as Desi’s. Although we have made a soft launch in March 2019, the full website won’t be live till Summer 2019.
Our Approach
Media is often seen as a source of information, news and sharing stories. However, there is a lapse in a proper narrative about South Asians in Canada. Most of their stories are unheard of even after being here for over 100 years. YEG Desi is an attempt to bring those stories out and share them with the mainstream. We use Infographics, Videos, Articles and Short films to share our stories across different mediums on the web and social networks.

Curation isn’t easy. With our two-person team, it will take us a while till we are up and ready with all the content on this website, but we ask you to get in touch if you have a story and want it told!
